Mahesh Adel is a lawyer by training and formerly a lawyer at the Delhi High court. She became part of the legal wing of the BJP in 2014 when she contested the Uttar Pradesh state assembly elections. While there so far no ruling, she has been a regular guest at the BJP national executive from which she has taken over as president, as the party has already had a law minister from the ruling party, Navin Jaihind, from its national executive.
Shaina NC, a lawyer, has been an MP from Amethi since 2012. She has been in the national and state executive of the BJP for most of the last five years. In the last six months she has been an MP from Delhi and a member of the national council. NC, who also studied at India Institutes of Science, has been accused by some of the Aam Aadmi Party, of being a right-wing Hindu, and of attempting to manipulate the media to spread her party’s ideologies. She is a member of the party’s national council, and said that she wants to work to bring justice to the people.
She said that BJP has no political ideology. “The party is very clear and concise in what its political mission is. People are aware of what it stands for and they accept it. A few leaders are working on ideas that are not the party’s,” NC said.
She said that she will focus on the issues that matter to people and not on the personality of leader. “I will not attempt to convince anyone. I hope they give me the benefit of a doubt. If they think I am a Hindu because of the colour of my hair then we will have no discussion. All I can offer they will have to accept,” NC said.
NC said that the government should be focusing on the issues that matter to people, not personalities or any other factors or the issue of how this or that person is doing or what kind of a person he has to be for doing a job. She said that the party needs the time for itself, which has been so frustrating for them for so long.
She said that in the party’s current structure, there are many leaders from different ideological positions in the country so that there can be a united BJP among the nation and this is something that will help them achieve that.
“Every party has leaders with different views and I think we need more representatives in the BJP from different ideologies.
