Lwin Chauhan’s office today said the “criminal conspiracy” charges against Lwin Chauhan had been withdrawn.

The cancellation of the case relates to the arrest of two persons – an ex-student at a private university and an employee of an organisation called “Bhrua Koli Seva Anam” (Clean Love Foundation).

The men had been charged with criminal conspiracy, for providing shelter and financial support to the accused at the alleged behest of the police. This offence has to end and the charges against Chauhan will be withdrawn, Lwin Chauhan told reporters after reaching Mysuru.

He claimed that the charges against them was politically motivated.

The case had been booked following a complaint filed by a person named as the ‘Aam Admi Samiti’ of Pune who had alleged sexual assault by Chauhan in her room at a hotel in Mysuru last December.

She had claimed that while she was asleep, Chauhan, her driver and two others raped her while she was in a coma and suffered a severe head injury.

The accused allegedly entered into an extortion pact with the complainant.

The woman alleged that she had sought police protection on the advice of the person who had approached her on behalf of the accused in an attempt to clear her name. She further alleged that she had paid Rs 50,000 as security as the accused had threatened to kill the police and her family.

The complainant also alleged that Chauhan, the driver and two others assaulted her after she went to meet another man named as ‘Shashod Rama Bhajan’ for a short period of time.

Lwin Chauhan said that it was a “political conspiracy” to defame himself. He said the complainant had met the accused on Thursday and on Friday, the accused had informed her of the “composition” of the case.

“They said the police would carry out a probe against me and then it would be withdrawn,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, after registering a case against Chauhan, the police took custody of the complainant’s driver Ashish Chauhan, who is the driver from the incident.

Citing an earlier statement by Chauhan, police said, “The complainant was lying in a coma. She was kept in the hospital for over a week without food and water and forced to sleep during the day because of a head injury sustained. Because she had difficulty
