Lara Pitt is a renowned Australian media personality and presenter, primarily associated with Fox Sports News on both her daily radio program on Fox Sports Live, and her daily column in the Sydney Daily Herald. She has also done hosting work for The Late Shift, which was then known as the RSN. Born and raised in Australia, she is of Irish descent and was previously married to John Scott Penfold, a rugby player for the ACT Brumbidgeerers in the early 1980s. After the marriage, they had three children.

Description Lara Pitt is usually reported as being 5′ 7″ in height, but this figure can sometimes be exaggerated. In her younger days, she was actually known as Hazelmere, which is a name that she proudly proclaims. Her ancestors are reported to have been of Irish decent. The surname Pitt includes a variant spelling, namely Pineau, which is where her great-grandparents were from.

A noted interest in sport as a child, Lara spent considerable time watching tennis and football in her formative years, and even reportedly tried out for the Australian Institute of Sport. These may have been efforts by her to stay fit, though it’s not clear whether she ever competed professionally. By contrast, Bruce Springwood’s mother, Vera, was a much more prominent figure in their household, serving as the principal cook and maid. Springwood was an all-round sporting talent, and according to one source, was a “very good tennis player”. It is clear that both children shared a strong love of sport, and may well have been the basis for their famous relationship.
