“The only thing more likely to inspire passion is a good story, and one that inspires readers can’t be overstated. And to inspire readers to read and enjoy, great stories have to be told in a style unique to what readers expect, and those are the stories that can best inspire passion, creativity and excitement. One of the most important aspects of developing the best stories is that they must make readers understand why they come into print.”

-Alan Moore,

“What Is Good?”, 1992.

“To me, The New Adventures of Batman really is an old comic book series. It is long and it is deep and its story is complex and exciting. It’s certainly not the kind of books people have been talking about reading, but there is at least an intrinsic appeal to what readers come home to, year after year, month after month… the way it brings the people who enjoy reading comics and superheroes together – the way it connects the old and the new to something we all cherish.”

-Kevin O’Neill,

“New Adventures of Batman (Volume Two),” 1992.

“For me, The New Adventures of Batman (Vol. 2) is as good as its premise, well written and exciting – a big character in a big story but with a little touch of whimsy and whimsy only a few people can come up with…. [It’s like] the ultimate kid’s comics… You’ve got the classic heroes and villains all over again… you’ve got the super heroes battling Superman to the death… everything’s up for grabs.”

-Christopher Priest

“The New Adventures of Batman (Vol. 2), #23, 1993”

“My favorite Batman story so far has been ‘Night of the Owls,’ first published in issue #35 in Batman issues #13-19, back in 1989. That story is really the best Batman story ever told. You know, Batman’s fighting villains, making enemies, falling in love, doing it all, but he’s also trying to fight a lot of bad guys. It’s an amazing story and one of the better Batman stories ever told. So that’s great. But this story, it’s so much more, and so much fun. There’s some of that ‘Batman story in the Night of the Owls’ stuff in there, but with a twist – the Owls are still there.
