Juliet Aniya, a Manipuri girl, was born into a royal family of Orzechuk (Mikmaq) in Orzechuk-Usti. She studied at St. Stephen’s College, Shimla in India and then spent two years in Germany studying for the doctorate in Psychology. After completing her degree, Juliet worked as a counselor at a mental hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia before qualifying to teach in Shimla. In India, Juliet has worked for Indian Institute of Technology, Singapore; ICM School of Business, New Delhi; National Association for Career Development (NACE), New Delhi; and World Wide Management Training and Consultancy, Mumbai.

Juliet’s parents had told her that she would have to serve her country like an army officer in the army but Juliet wanted to do something different like become a counselor or psychologist. So she left home and joined the National Association for Career Development. But there was a problem as Juliet was not eligible for this job. She failed the entrance exam for the National Association for Professional Development (NASPD) and that made her ineligible for taking the NASPD exam. But since Juliet had already undergone a rigorous course in psychology at St. Stephen’s College, she was allowed to complete her Masters in Psychology. She became a practicing professional with the National Association for Professional Development and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Juliet is married and has a son named Harpreet. She also has two sisters and a brother-in-law named Sukhwinder Singh. She lives in Shimla, a hill station in Rajasthan, India. Juliet’s hobbies and interests are horse riding, billiards, chandeliers, travel, and table tennis. Her favorite flower is the yellow Carnation.
