Juliana Nal is currently the latest addition to the ever-expanding cast of characters that make up the cast of “The Perfume Song” from Disney. A young, beautiful dancer who is beautiful inside and out, Juliana’s dream life takes a rather unfortunate turn when her homeland is destroyed by pirates during her sea voyage. Bearing witness to her tragic ordeal, she vows never to leave her beloved homeland and travels throughout her new country, eventually falling in love with a local boy named Pedro (Dries Van Noten). However, things are not always what they seem for this tender hearted girl who quickly falls in love with yet another local boy named Alex (Pedro Collado), whom she lures with her captivating beauty. She then hopes to join her old friend in the theatre, where she hopes to find success as a singer and playmates, but what happens when the ship that carries her leaves the port and heads towards the endless sea, leaving her alone…
In this movie, which was directed by Wes Ball, Juliana Nal shows off her stunning beauty as a ballerina, dancing her heart out to the music while carrying a bouquet of flowers in one hand. However, what separates Nal from other ballerinas of her time is her lack of height. As a result of her status as a dancer, this was taken as a given and did not allow her many opportunities for romantic and fun interludes as a child. Her lack of height is what allows her to get ahead of many of her contemporaries as she sings and plays in her late teens. It would seem that even though she has changed her nationality to French, her height remains a deterrent to potential employers who are looking for someone of her stature.
Regardless of her lack of height, it seems that Juliana Nal has found the perfect career for herself in the performing arts. Her talents are clearly seen in her choreography on stage which includes the exotic dance routines which add spice and mystery to her already amazing singing. However, it is her status as a dancer which has allowed her to succeed in a very difficult and competitive field of work which is very common among dancers of her age. Her determination to make it in the profession she loves has been rewarded with a unique body of work which many view as brilliant in its own right.
