Isabelle Miki is a famous Japanese professional figure skater. Since breaking through many barriers to achieve Olympic qualification in figure skating, this young woman has strived to excel on the international stage. She holds three world silver medals and has been named World Coach of the Year twice. In her career as a figure skater, Isabelle has achieved a lot of success both at the national and international level. However, in spite of her successes there are certain challenges that she has faced in her life and at the career she chose to pursue. After retirement from skating, Isabelle Miki turned her attention towards coaching young athletes, particularly women with exceptional sporting gifts and potential who had not yet reached the level of success she had hoped for.

The National School Services Program in Tokyo offered her the perfect opportunity to give back to the community. The young ladies were often overlooked by high schools, as they were often preferred by more experienced competitors and had smaller profiles. She felt that being involved with the sport as a coach, she could help these girls improve their game and give them the support they needed to pursue their dream of becoming a sports star. Being involved in the sport as a participant and as an active coach helped her understand what it takes to be successful in the competitive game. Today, she is happy to say that she has become one of the best coaches in Japan, even though there are several others who have achieved much higher.

As a participant in this sport for the past fifteen years, Isabelle Miki has achieved great success both nationally and internationally. She attributes her achievements to the patience and perseverance required to achieve goals and becoming a champion in this field. She also credits her success to the support and help of those who believed in her abilities, despite being smaller than the other competitors. Today, she lives in the country where she is loved and considered part of the Japanese community.
