Isabelle Matuidi is a French soccer player, professionally representing both France and Germany. She is currently on loan with Brazilian side Internacional for the current season. She started her career playing for FC Paris in France before moving to Germany to join HSV Veltrope- FC Schwalmler in the late 80’s where she played with such notable players as Christoph Pferenz. She earned a regular spot on the bench for Die Mannschaft, winning the penalty kick duties several times, which earned her a contract with VfL Altena in the early 90’s. After leaving that club, she signed on with rivals FC Barcelona and has since become a mainstay on the right flank. She retired from football in 2004, focusing on being an actor, but has since made a return to the game by signing for French club Racing Club.

The national team of Brazil is known as the Reebok-Fede, and their most accomplished player is probably Florentine forward Brazil striker Cipollino. The only woman currently playing at a senior international level in France is 26-year-old Argentinian internationalista Maria Gualtierra, and she is not exactly a world class striker, at least not according to the men’s national team. So it is up to Matuidi, or another woman on the roster, to lead the way up the right side. She has certainly done that, scoring twice in her appearances so far, including a brace in her first match for the Brazil side, against Italy in June.

So, is it safe to say that Matuidi is a French soccer player? It is safe to say that she is, at least on paper. Despite this, the exact worth of Isabelle Matuidi, as a player, is not known. As with most things in life, one must make their own mind up on their own.
