Isabela Deutsch is a famous writer. Her works are praised around the world and are translated in more than twenty languages. Born in Nazi Germany, her family was subjected to concentration camp life and at the age of 17, she committed suicide by hanging herself with a belt from a belt buckle in the shower. This brought her position in writing professionally since she had written about the horrors of her imprisonment.

In her youth, she was fascinated by drawings of people made on paper. At the age of sixteen, she began studying painting and drawing but these interests fizzled out as she grew up. Her path in writing did not take her to study painting but instead to become a journalist. After breaking into a profession as a magazine editor, her articles won several awards. Eventually, she decided to take a different course in writing, which was a history of the Second World War.

Isabela Deutsch has written some excellent books on art, German history, literature and politics. She is very knowledgeable about her subject matter and her research is meticulous. Her writing style is clear without being pretentious. Her use of words is clear without being flippant. Her articles on national and international issues are well researched and written and she has an engaging personality that makes you want to read more of what she writes.
