Is height Really Important In The Film Industry?

Isabel Jones was an actress and singer with a successful career that spanned four decades and even two countries. However, what is lesser known is the fact that her parents were both American and Spanish and her nationality was American despite being a British subject. Being an American by birth, Jones did not have to choose between her citizenship and her nationality when applying for jobs in Hollywood. As such, this raised questions as to whether or not being American was better than being Spanish or British despite the fact that her parents claimed she was British.

The truth of the matter is that height does make a difference in the public eye but it doesn’t really affect careers. Height alone does not play into the hiring process of an entertainment industry. Instead, what most casting directors look at are a few things including your looks on paper along with your personality. These things then influence the producers and director to see if you would be a good fit for their projects. For example, it has been proven that those people who are on the taller side tend to make better leaders in their companies and also go on to become prime ministers. While some may argue that height is only an issue in the entertainment business, the truth of the matter is that it can affect anyone regardless of their job.

Now that we know the truth about height and the difference it makes in the entertainment industry, what can we do as parents to help our children to not only achieve success in their careers but also in their public lives? First of all, we need to make sure that we instill in them the same values that we as adults have. We should encourage them to work hard and to learn from their mistakes. We need to instill in them the fact that hard work pays off and being an individual is not the path to happiness. Instead, we should make them understand that they can make a difference in the world by taking advantage of their talents and following their passions.
