Cynthia Renard is a celebrity that has been featured in a lot of magazines as the “new woman on the scene” or the “next supermodel”. She has appeared in such publications as L’officiel, Maxim, Redbook and FHM, to name a few. The question many have been asking themselves, is she really the “next great supermodel”? Her image, which has been compared to that of Lindsay Lohan’s, has created quite a stir amongst female supermodels. Is Cynthia Renard the “new breed” for female models?
According to her publicist, Michael Weiss, Renard’s official height is 6 feet, which is not far short of the US record held by actress Angelina Jolie. The publicist further states, “Cynthia’s measurements are absolutely accurate, which helps contribute to the positive image that she has right now. People have this impression that if someone is tall then they’re old. It’s very flattering to see a girl who looks young”.
Other models that have a similar height as Renard have include Victoria Beckham, whom she resembles physically and stylistically, as well as Anna Kournikova and Elle Macpherson. There is no doubt that the six foot mark is a useful starting point for comparing models, but it seems that Renard may be the new breed, with her career path following in the footsteps of other taller figures. Some fashion experts believe that the height is a marketing strategy, to ensure that larger companies pick up on the brand and associate it with success. Others would suggest that if there is no real reason for having such a tall figure, then it is best to leave it alone.
