Yasmin Warsame is a Canadian actress and activist of African origin. She was born in Somalia and became a Canadian citizen in 1996. In 2021, she received “The Most Beautiful Canadian” award from the prestigious Fashion magazine. She is known for her role as Shura in the movie “A Few Good Men”, as well as for appearing in numerous commercials for brands ranging from Jansport to Reebok.

Recently, however, Ms. Warsame has garnered attention for her appearance in a New York Times Magazine’s article “race relations and the definition of beautiful”. The article compared the accomplishments of black and white people in the United States, in addition to those in other first world countries. According to the article, Warsame was identified as having an ethnicity distinct from her own because of her beautiful appearance, and because of her ethnicity she could easily be considered a beauty parlor model. She was described as having a “distinctive face, which earned her the nickname “Handsome”, and her height being in the “six-figure” bracket. She is described as a popular celebrity among teenagers and as someone with her own kind of celebrity status who are not afraid to speak her mind.

Mr. Warsame, through his own statement, admitted that he had been dating a young woman for the last few years, and though he has seen past photographs of the woman and confirmed her ethnicity, he denied that they are in love. He indicated that the relationship was a friendship that developed over the last year or so. When asked if he considered his age to be an impediment in meeting and attracting the woman he cherishes, he responded, “Well, I guess it depends what you want out of life.” This is part of the success of an actor who manages to remain interesting while maintaining a profile that remains appealing to the majority of the general population.
