Police have arrested three men in connection with this crime, but have not released their names yet. The victim’s family and friends have asked the provincial council of the Human Rights Commission, the provincial police and the provincial council of higher education for justice for their daughter, saying that she has been made into a statistic.
Human Rights Commission (HRC) Peshawar Director General Ashraf Shahzad Hamid has also requested a meeting with the provincial police to seek justice for the victim in the hope that she will be able to come out of her ordeal. Shahzad Hamid also added that such incidents of a sexual nature cannot be tolerated in this country. Human rights are not a political issue but a human right and this has to be ensured,” he said.
