Olivia Moultrie plays an English football player. She’s currently the third youngest American female football player to make the step to pro, doing that at the age of thirteen. She’s also the youngest woman to sign a pro contract and actually take an offer to join a university team at the age of eleven. Despite this early beginning in her professional career, it seems that the road has been long and hard for the diminutive forward.

A promising start to the pro game for the then teenage England forward came with her mother and father in the United States, who both brought her to live in the country when she was young. The Moultries moved around a lot in their young age, as they moved from state to state. After two years in North Carolina, where they settled in, their younger daughter stayed behind to finish high school. The family lived in another state for a few more years, finally moving back to England where she played soccer for the first time. At the age of 16, Moultrie made her debut for her club team, not really sure what the big deal was about since she had never actually played before in her life.

Moultrie then went on to train with the Arsenal Ladies from the Emirates Ladies Cup, which is now known as the FA Women’s Super Cup. While she didn’t make a starting appearance in the competition, she was one of the most impressive players on the team, scoring four goals and making an important goal-saving tackle in a 2-1 victory against Brazil. After leaving the Emirates, however, she decided to join Pompey Ladies in the UK, a club in the fourth tier. The move to the third tier meant that she would be cut from the England squad. However, after a season with Warrington and a loan with Nottingham Forest, Moultrie returned to the academy, where she has been a starter ever since.
