Lisa Stansfield was born in Kent but raised in London. At a very young age she was a very popular member of her family’s skating team. Following this she appeared in a number of British television commercials and singing shows, eventually becoming one of the biggest ever paid celebrities in the UK. In 1990 Stansfield moved to Hollywood, where she starred in several films, which saw her playing characters in fantasy and science-fiction movies such as Fantastic Four, Demolition or Men in Black.
Lisa Stansfield now is married to Richard III, a British national, making her a dual nationality according to the British government. Stansfield’s husband is American and their union is valid in America. Stansfield stated on a British talk show that she has no regrets about ever getting married to Richard III as both are of different nationalities. Richard III was born in the USA while Stansfield was born in Kent, England.
The dual nationality issue was highlighted by members of the British press who complained that Stansfield had become a dual US and British citizen whilst still married to Richard III. Richard III is not a dual citizen of either country according to the UK’s Immigration laws. Stansfield stated on the chat show that she plans on beingqueath her husband to be a king, stating” Richard is my brother and he’s the king in waiting.” Following the interview, Richard III released a statement saying ” Lisa is a fine woman and has proved herself a loyal and faithful wife. She will be retained as our queen in the meanwhile.”
