Deborah Ruiz was born in Mexico, a country famous for its bold personalities and fierceness. The Ruiz clan migrated to the United States when American soldiers were stationed there during the revolution. Her life changed drastically once her husband returned home and they later had two children. During that time, she worked as a nanny, caregiver, teacher’s aide and secretary. Today, in the year 2021, this trim, petite woman with dark hair is an entrepreneur, socialite and model.

It was not an easy transition for Deborah Ruiz. She started her modeling career at a very young age of 18, and although her height was considered a disadvantage, she overcame it to become one of the youngest models to pose for Coker’s agency. Later on, with her career progressing, Ruiz was asked to pose for New York Magazine’s annual Hot Style Awards in which she wore a two-piece bathing suit with fishnet stockings and high heels. This picture made Ruiz famous and helped her build up her own modeling agency. She has since worked with some of the biggest fashion houses in the world, such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Prada and Versace.

Deborah Ruiz’s own definition of beauty has always been eclectic. She is proud of her many nationalities, and at one time, considered herself to be of Irish descent. In an interview with People Magazine, she said, “I consider myself more Mexican than anything. If I were born in the U.S., it would be really easy for me to be Mexican. I could wear my red sombrero or my authentic Mexican hat, my Native American hair braids. For me, it doesn’t matter where I am.”
