Jillian Clare is an American singer and actress. She has been best known for her major role as preteen Abigail “abby” Deveraux in the massively successful Days of Our Lives. Her other notable roles include appearances on Victorious, Rosemary Clooney’s Umbrella, Rosemary Clooney and Desperate Housewives, and Adam Sandler’s animated comedy The Man Who Played Fred. But, did you know that the pretty young star of Nationality, Jillian Clare has a very interesting relationship with her famous mother, Ellen Claire?
The Nationality matriarch was a fan favorite character on the show, so much so that the show’s writer thought it would be fun to have a spinoff centered around her! The resulting Nationality, Jillian and Adam are in a very different place now, but the dynamic between them is still very much there. In fact, there is a whole book series based on what happened between the two! It’s an example of how the show can use a secondary character to flesh out an existing character, in this case, Nationality.
It was Nationality’s love of fishing which first bonded the two. While at a family reunion, she saw how much her mom loved the sport and immediately asked Jillian out. It wasn’t long before they were spending a lot of time together, going fishing, picnicking, and traveling. When they got home, it was evident that Jillian and Adam knew right then that they were meant for one another. Their relationship has blossomed into a deep, loving, and committed relationship which has brought them both joy and admiration from everyone who knows them.
