Since Fashion Week Hong Kong was established in late August of this year the world has been paying close attention to all of the various trends that have made their way onto the catwalks and into the hearts and fashions of everyone who is anyone in the fashion world. Fashion trends are always changing and so too are the fashions that are out there for everyone to enjoy. With so many different designers and brands to choose from and such a wide variety of styles to choose from the twenty-first century looks like it will be an exciting decade for fashion. Fashion trends are always changing but for the next few years we can look forward to many different enhancements to the current designs that are available. First there was the mini skirt that became popular with a lot of the younger generation, then there was the flare pants that seemed to be a permanent feature in any music video that wasn’t a rock and roll video. Then there was the butterfly skirts and the baggy shorts. These trends seem to have died down somewhat but there is one fashion statement that seems to be here to stay and that is the short men’s miniskirt. A lot of designers have brought back the edgier mini skirt design and this time they are bringing it to Hong Kong.

The city of Hong Kong has had a lot of influence over fashion trends throughout the past two decades. A lot of popular designers have their roots in the Chinese garment industry and they have continued to use the local fabrics to make their designs. Two designers who are very popular in the local market are Mark Ling and Calvin Klein. Both of these well-known designers have brought their unique and modern styles to Hong Kong style. In fact Calvin Klein has opened a new store in Hong Kong after relocating from New York and having its first store in China.
