Maya Brenner has become known as a “new breed” of stylists because of her innovative approach to cutting, sculpting and coloring hair. She is the owner and operator of Height Nation salon in Manhattan Beach, California. Her shop is often featured on TV’s daytime television shows. Her bold styling and cutting techniques have earned her many awards including seven Golden Globe Awards and an Emmy. She has been portrayed by many Hollywood celebrities and has achieved success as a hairstylist, makeup artist, nail technician and educator.
Maya started her career as a model while still attending art school. She was also a finalist in the Miss America pageant in 1984, which gave her an impressive resume. After that she went on to do commercials and voice work, and she became a teacher before becoming a stylist. She met her now husband in college and they have had two children.
Maya started her Height Nation salon as a family owned business in Corona Del Mar, California in 1985. The business has expanded since then and now has locations in New York, Miami Beach, Beverly Hills, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Hollywood, Los Angeles and Dallas. Her clientele includes celebrities and the rich and famous. Her employees are all professionally trained and well-equipped with high quality equipment. Height Nation caters to various hair needs of both men and women through the use of cutting, coloring, styling and special effects services.
