Case in point: Casey Chan, an Australian National who was a star tennis player and has represented the United States in the International Wimbledon Tennis tournament. Mr. Chan is now promoting his latest product on the internet, a height increasing app. What makes this app so different? Well, it features an application which allows users of iPhones and iPads to upload photos of themselves to be used as the profile images for a free trial, then once the app is downloaded they can upload a photo of themselves at any age using that photo as their profile image. So basically, instead of needing to come up with your own images, you can use other people’s images to boost your personal image in many ways!
The question I have is how does height increasing through Facebook work? Does the product promote the idea of height increasing by allowing your partner to see photos of you growing taller, or just allowing the two of you to post more pictures of yourself together, which are already in your partner’s album on their phone? It appears to me, based on the product description on Facebook, that there is no link between the two things. It also doesn’t mention anything about needing to upload an actual picture, which would seem like a very big oversight on the part of the developer.
Based on the way the product works, and given that there is no mention of uploading any photos to the application, I have to conclude that the product is not for height increasing. At the very least, this product promotes a fictional relationship between two people where one partner uses the other’s photo as their own. That being said, the marketing for this product is problematic. There is no indication of whether or not this will be available to those of us with smaller or larger statures, nor is there any mention of whether or not the information on the sales page is correct. All we can safely say is that you will have to purchase the product to gain access to all its features (Casey Chan recommending that you use the trial version before making the purchase) and decide for yourself if height increasing through Facebook is really something that you want to pursue.
