Recently, Dana Suchow was featured in an article in the South Florida Sun Herald where she discusses her struggle with height. She is a single mother of two and works as a chef at a Boca Raton, Florida resort. She has always felt short due to her height, but it wasn’t until a family crisis that she found herself needing to deal with this situation. When she met a wonderful man, Daniel Negrete, who is 6′ 2″ and played basketball in high school, she knew she had found her calling.

“We had a good relationship going back to when I was in high school, which was eight years ago,” Suchow said. “I always felt tall as a girl, but not as a boy. I had always been attracted to men taller than me. We were dating for about six months when I started to think about getting a professional growth hormone injection to grow taller. My husband was against it because he didn’t want to take responsibility for something that might potentially cause him harm. I finally went through with it after realizing the risks.”

Height or being tall is more of a personal issue for Suchow. “I guess it depends on how you look at it. Most people see the advantage in having a taller partner because it makes them feel more powerful and more in control of the situation. But in my mind, the height difference is just another reason to play hard to get. If a man’s attraction to me is because of height, then he’s not attracted to women with similar characteristics because I’m not short enough, whether I’m a woman or a man.”
