Olivia Hopkins is an English professional journalist who has worked in various media for many years. She began her professional career at The Daily Telegraph before moving onto television where she rose through the ranks to present the Panorama programme. After the end of the show she established her own magazine, Private Eye, which she also managed to launch into a television show of the same name. After that failed to score a second series in the UK, it moved onto television in America, where it was short-lived.
Ms. Hopkins has maintained a strong interest in height, including a major study conducted by psychologists which claimed that taller people get more respect and are more popular. She is also reported as having been fascinated by the concept of being as tall as a child. It was this interest that led to her becoming a keen supporter of the British National Platform (BNP) in its campaign against heights. The BNP is a far-right political party in Britain. Height is seen as a factor which increases social status and makes people feel better about their appearance.
Height difference may affect a relationship between two partners differently; however, the outcome of height difference for those involved in a relationship will not necessarily be negative. Height difference may lead to one person feeling inferior to another or with perceived lack of self-worth. This does not mean that either partner can take advantage of the other in order to improve their height. However, it can lead to one partner perceiving themselves as being less attractive than the other. This may, in turn, lead to them seeking ways of changing this perceived lack of beauty to make themselves look more appealing to others.
