Recently Lisa Mckinnon, an award winning author and editor has come out in the open about her opinions on the height difference between men and women. She has spoken about her experience of growing up as the wrong size and the negative impact it had on her social life and her relationships. As a result of her discoveries she is now single and has not married and has refused to date for years. She states that people have raised questions about her personal hygiene as well as her ability to participate in public toilets.
Now, the question that one could ask is why shouldn’t someone be able to choose their own partner? One reason is that you have the ability to choose your partner depending on your own personal choices, your looks, your personality and your height. The only way this can be applied though is if you are in a profession where you cannot choose your partner solely based on physical attributes such as height or weight.
So, does the fact that Lisa Mckinnon is now single and happy really make you think differently? Well there are many people who would say that this is because it is unfair that someone has to be discriminated against just because of their personal differences. In her case however it seems clear that this was the height of discrimination and abuse. This does not mean that height is irrelevant in a relationship with your partner but it does show that it can affect the outcome in some cases.
