Description Kate Winslet is an English actress best known for her role as the title character in the movie The Rainmaker. She is also well known for her supporting work in period films and has been portrayed many different characters during her career. Winslet is currently the recipient of a number of awards, including three British Academy Film Awards and has been listed among the best female actors of all time. As a result, Kate Winslet has established a name for herself as one of the most accomplished and respected actresses in Hollywood.

Height Defiance Although Kate Winslet is not known to be overweight, people who believe that she is may not be getting her full due. Her recent films, The Rainmaker, The Devil’s Advocate, and Edward Scissorhands, where she plays a character who has a unique mid-size frame, have led some to question whether she might be using her height to her advantage in the acting industry. Her use of height in her movies, combined with her age (allegedly 48) have led some to accuse her of trying to escape the realities of her professional life, by choosing roles that require certain body aspects. According to Kate Winslet, the only reason she has resorted to this technique in her acting career is because the directors she has worked with have not always been supportive of her attempts to be successful at being beautiful. “I have never felt like I was beautiful onscreen, so I decided to play something entirely different in my career”, she said.

However, some may be wondering just how significant a role height is in the acting profession. According to Kate Winslet, her height was simply a part of her character. “The secret of being sexy is knowing what you’re good at, then doing it”. She went on to say: “You know what being sexy is? Being comfortable in your own skin!”
