This year at the MTV Music Awards, YouTube did something so revolutionary and innovative that it really was a unique sparkle fashion trend. Instead of running the traditional music awards show with their usual set of celebrity guests, they decided to hand out glitzy award pins to every single artist on stage. It’s a very nice concept that actually raises some interesting issues. For instance, why do they only give glitz to the female artists? In past years, male artists have been dominating the MTV Music Awards with most theelight. However, this year, there is a gender equality issue present which many people are criticizing and loving.
It seems like the MTV executives and artists have grown up a bit and realize that giving glitz to everyone on stage isn’t the way to keep up with the latest trends in fashion and that’s a good thing. I personally feel that sometimes these awards are not picked by the audience and are instead chosen by the producers of the show, but that’s another story. Regardless, the glitter fashion trend is still alive and kicking this year. Here are some of my favorite artists who are definitely part of this glitter fashion trend:
My personal favorite female artist of all time is Lady GaGa and she has made a career out of showing off her glitter style. One of her styles is called “Chicks With Balls” and it shows off her gorgeous body and hair as she belts out a few choice lines. Also, top fashion designer Tom Ford recently designed a line of glitter clothes for his clothing line called “The Balearic Bling”. Lady GaGa is not the first female artist to come into the glitter fashion trend and she is certainly not the last either. This year, I am expecting even more creative and glamorous designs by female artists and designers.
