German short track speed skier Anna Seidel (aka Anna Seidel) is currently a Nationality skier at the German National Team. At the ISU World Cup in Kolomna Austria, in November 2021, Seidel qualified 6th place in the A final of the 1500m race, thus earning her a place in the Olympic team. It was also announced that German’s women athletes comprise of six out of seven teams for the championships in February. The remaining four will be from nations not taking part in the Olympic Games this year.
As a track and field athlete, Anna Seidel has proved that age is no barrier for a talented athlete, as was pointed out by her coach, Volker Atkins. He had stated earlier that Seibel has proved that age is not an obstacle for her, and that it was her determination to achieve a first World Cup win, which had lifted the spirits of the entire German team. After missing the cut for the Olympics, Seibel went back to training and made sure that she maintained a high level of performance, despite her age. This has given the whole German team the confidence that they can still perform at the highest level when it comes to competition.
Anna Seibel’s success has created a new benchmark for other young Europeans hoping to make their mark in international sports competitions. A number of other young Europeans, including British open-water skier Helen Clark, have also come from Germany. But it is now the turn of another German skier, in this case, Anna Seibel, who can become a symbol for other Europeans. It is a great feeling for Seibel to be included in this line of famous European skiers. Being named alongside the likes of British Open-Water skier Helen Clark and German National Olympic skier Christoph Konig is a huge step forward for anyone hoping to make a name for themselves in this sport. The chance to wear German skis in an Olympic Games such as these is one that will be remembered for a long time to come.
