Galina Moore (aka Lily) with a man named Simon (David Morrissey) as they attend a “BDSM” convention where they hear about how BDSM makes them feel. Lily and Simon are the most extreme “sociopaths” who are the only two willing to go along to meet a “friend” (the one who may turn out to be a potential mother for them). Their relationship is based on mutual control, domination and submission.

The original episode is written by Jason Mewes, who would go on to create the show Scream. He’s produced countless horror-based films, including Scary Movie and The House, which starred Nicolas Cage, so it’s not all that surprising that the character of Garp should come from the horror canon.

In a separate interview with TV Fanatic, Mewes explained why he knew to bring the character of Garp to life:

When I was approached by Jason about it, he told me there had been research done on psychopathy and trauma of being abused as well as how those same people can be found working in the “dark side” of society as well as the police. It was a perfect match for the character because we both had something to hide. We were both driven by the same thing: the power that came with being a serial killer, and the need to hold a position of power. I don’t think I’d ever want anyone, regardless of character, to be afraid of what they’ve done, let alone that it could affect them. A lot of these characters have these internal debates at different times. That’s where this character starts to get interesting for me—the internal strife to control and manipulate power as to how you gain it and maintain it….Garp and Zander’s relationship started as something that might work, and then became something else.

Mewes didn’t stop there, though. Instead of having them just casually come back to the story, the show is built around them having a major change in one or more areas of their lives—a major change in gender, sexuality, and/or power—over the course of one to two seasons. The new characters are portrayed as being more complicated. Garp often plays the role of being a perfect fit for the female-dominated office.
