Francisca Lara is an actress from Chile and is widely recognised for her beautiful role as an archaeologist in the movie “Mujeres del Chinchero” (The Graduate). Her first language is Spanish but other than that she speaks English, French, Italian, German, Hungarian, Chinese and Japanese. In her early life, Francisca was married to Josefa Ladislao who was a well-known lawyer in Chile’s Congress. After the marriage, they had three children. When Josefa was diagnosed with cancer, Francisca took it upon herself to find a cure for her father and to help Josefa pay his medical bills. As a result of this act, she became very knowledgeable about medical matters and began to set up her own practice.
In her teens, Francisca began to build up a collection of relics, many of which are now on display in various museums all over the world. It was then that she decided to pursue a career in archaeology, specifically in pre-historical and historical areas of the World. She earned a degree in archeology from the University of Granada (charges not published in English translation) and continued her studies at the University of Paris. Here she earned a doctorate in Mayence, specializing in pre-Christian era archeology.
In her career as an archeologist, Francisca Lara has found many hidden treasures including weapons, wooden implements and diamond rings. As a private archeologist, Francisca usually works alongside her partner, Dr. Miguel Angel Gil, from the Department of Forests and Coastal Sciences. In this role, Dr Gil is responsible for protecting the archaeological sites of the region. Together they have unearthed a wealth of information that ranges from pre-Roman times right up to the 19th century.
