Francesca Tolot is a sculptor and painter from Palos del lenga in the Southern region of Argentina. Known worldwide for her beauty as well as her high taste of style, Francesca Tolot designed most of the art works which were showcased during the Rome Salon International in 2021. She was born in Buenos Aires having the title of Corin (Spanish for Angel). This was because her father was an Angel in the Argentinean Flag. After graduating from high school she went to study at the National University of Los Angeles, but she decided to stay in Argentina since it was where she fell in love with her tutor.
After studying in Italy, Francesca Tolot decided to apply for the National Academy of Art in Buenos Aires, this is an international school with branches in many other countries such as Japan, China, Russia, USA and France among others. She graduated in Literature inances in 1950. During this time she became very interested in painting and also developed a career as a sculptor. As a sculptor she was known for her realistic portrayal of human figures and was also a popular fashion designer. Eventually she decided to establish her own name in the field of art, and in this she was able to create her first career in the Argentinaan National Gallery where she displayed mainly her most popular works which are still viewable in some of the major museums in Europe.
After working in the gallery one day she decided to create a solo exhibition in order to show her work to the public. This was not easy since most of her pieces were not very popular and only a few people knew about them. In this exhibition she exhibited her most modern pieces, which did not go over well with the conservative majority in the country who did not like the ‘rebel’ look. However, Francesca Tolot was determined to keep on painting, and she did end up having many successful years in the profession. In the sixties she formed her own group called les poupeuses d’avant-garde and this became one of the most successful groups in France, and their music is still very popular today. Francesca Tolot was a true pioneering artist, who strived for her art and managed to leave a lasting legacy in the field of art.
