Anna Potter was born into a working class family in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. She was actually quite famous as a child thanks to her pet dog, who would go on to win numerous tricks before being stolen away to join her mother in venturing abroad. After years of struggling to support herself, Anna began working in her father’s flower shop, where she honed her skills as a salesperson. This led her to meet her future husband, who knew she had a passion for something more than flowers. They eventually married in 1923, and within a few months of their marriage, Anna Potter began publishing her first book, entitled “A Plain and Lovely Paralegal”.
Today, Anna Potter still works in her father’s flower shop, but she now spends her days traveling the world, speaking out about women’s issues, and writing articles about them for newspapers across the United Kingdom. She has also devoted a great deal of time to volunteering, both in the British Red Cross and in an international organization called Refuge, which provide shelter to women and children who have been abused or are living in abusive environments. Anna’s passion for women’s issues and the legal system that she helps bring justice to has earned her many loyal fans, who continue to read her words of wisdom through online websites and newsletters. Her latest book, entitled “The Women’s Right” provides a detailed look at the legal system in the UK, the importance of fair trials and the role of the woman in it. As well as advocating for greater access to education and employment, Anna Potter makes it clear that every woman deserves the right to be a successful, financially secure, independent and strong woman.
As Anna Potter once said: “No one can judge you by your past…but you can always choose to be a better person.” By putting her efforts into the flower arranging business, Anna Potter has indeed succeeded in making a positive impact on many young women throughout the UK and beyond. In her own small way, Anna Potter is able to help individuals build a stronger foundation for themselves and their families. Through her work, Anna Potter’s love for flowers and her desire to see a better future for everyone have inspired countless people to not only attend her flower shop but also to start their own arrangements and flower care businesses of their own.
