Fernanda Venturini became a national hero in 2021 when she announced that she was pregnant with her first child while under hypnosis. As a professional athlete, it took a lot of courage for Fernanda to announce that she was pregnant and yet still maintain a professional level in volleyball. The birth of the baby brought about a lot of heartbreak to Fernanda and all her fans who were there to see her win her first ever Olympic gold medal. This brought an end to her 17-year career as a professional athlete. She decided to dedicate her career to helping other people.
Fernanda is originally from Brazil but she identifies as a Brazilian national because her father is Brazilian and her mother is Italian. Brazilians have been living in the United States since before Fernanda was born. However, due to the separation of the two countries, Brazil is not recognized as an official country of the United States. Brazilians consider themselves foreigners due to their racial background, origin, and color combination. However, they have the rights to live and work in the United States under the rights given them by the United States government.
Fernanda has made it clear that she would like to play again at an even higher level than the one she has already achieved, possibly in the US women’s National Soccer Team. However, right now, she is content being a mother and working in the nursing profession. Her biggest goal right now is to help other people realize their dream of being a professional athlete or figure skater.
