Fernanda Recht is an attorney practicing in the field of criminal law. She has been a partner with Cowlitz, Atkins, Grisso and Hanley since 2021. Fernanda specializes in white collar crime and has a bachelor’s degree in business from Pepperdine University, a master’s in business from Villanova University, a certification in forensic psychology from Villanova, and a doctorate in social work from Pepperdine University. Fernanda also earned a master’s degree in social work at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

As an attorney, Fernanda works exclusively with individuals and corporations to provide a comprehensive representation for their legal needs. This involves preparing all the case studies and documents, conducting the interviews with the clients and their experts, performing the background research on the clients, writing the legal briefs, and defending the client against his or her criminal charges. She is also responsible for coordinating the negotiations between the defense and the prosecution.

Her notable achievements include winning the prestigious distinction of being the first ever woman lawyer in Bermuda and being the first ever woman law practitioner in Ontario. In addition to these accomplishments, she has also written extensively on issues surrounding women’s rights, domestic violence, and child abuse. Her most recent book, entitled A Woman’s Guide to Criminal Defense, was published in 2021.
