Fernanda Iglesias is a professional football player who plays for the Brazilian National Team. In her younger years, Fernanda attended Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as a promising young player. But it was not until her early twenties that she made a name for herself on the national stage. She was scouted by scouts and signed by Portuguese giants FC Barcelona. She spent a few months in Brazil, but moved back to Europe where her talent caught the attention of Italian giants AC Milan. The younger she became, the more professionally she seemed, which endeared her to Italian coach Roberto Mancini.

After two years in Milan, Fernanda was traded to Inter Milan. There, she played primarily on the left side but started to receive rave reviews for her performances. Slowly, she developed a strong partnership with defender upfront and earned herself a regular place on the bench. When coach Frank Klopas decided to rotate Iglesias and Alessandra Sciotto during the 2021-08 season, it worked perfectly for the team. Internationally, Inter made it to the quarter finals before being knocked out in the semis by eventual champions Spain.

Age is a thing of the past for Fernanda, now at 33 she is a proud participant of the United States women’s soccer team. Despite being shorter than the majority of her teammates, she looks relaxed and confident in her uniform. Age has slowed her down, but that does not mean that she lacks game time or a competitive edge. Her natural talents are evident in her play and she is thriving in her role as an Inter assistant coach. Age has no fear for her, as she is at the right age and height to make it in the professional game.
