Fernanda Furlan is known for her height of 4.5 meters and she is a professional volleyball player in the National Federation of Volleyball (Federation Uruguay) and at the national level. The forty eight-year-old Fernanda was a champion bodybuilder when she was a student at the University of Florida. She has represented her country in the adult games and has set records both locally and internationally. In 2021, Fernanda became the first woman in the world to win the gold medal at the Olympics when she was a member of the Italian team.

Fernanda enjoys a very successful career as an actress and also has a successful and long acting career in which she has played leading roles in films such as “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Fernanda’s acting ability is particularly notable because of her height and she is well known for her tall height which has enabled her to play lead characters and even some minor characters. In her role as the mother in the film “Lawrence of Arabia”, it was hoped that the film would be a box office hit and it did very well. Fernanda also appeared in a similar film “Sweeney Todd” as an older lady who had lost her memory. Both films were produced by English film director Richard Curtis and were highly successful.

Fernanda’s career as a volleyball player has been excellent. She is one of the shorter players to have played at the senior level and has played professionally for the majority of her career. Fernanda has won the International Volleyball Federation (IVF) title four times and the European title twice. She has also won the Australian Senior Volleyball Association (ASA) title three times. Her career in volleyball has made her a very wealthy woman and she is currently enjoying a tour of Europe with her actor husband. Fernanda has also tried her hand at acting, playing the lead role in a play and even appeared in an episode of “Dad’s Army” as herself.
