Fashions from the 1912 Fashion Trends

The 1912 fashion trends represent the birth of the fashion of the 1920’s and the beginning of what we know as the mass marketed clothing of the Gilded Era. This article will discuss the early fashions that were popular with men at this time period. The first thing to consider is the question of men’s clothing. Just before this time many men would wear suits as a sign of respect, although there were also a few wealthy men who actually owned their own tailor. As the century wore on and men began to realize that they needed clothing not just for function but for their leisure as well clothing became more popular.

The Grecian renaissance marked the beginning of the real mass production that would come about a few decades later. While men still wore suits for formal occasions many men’s clothing was more relaxed as they began to feel that they could freely express themselves. As men’s clothing became more popular and began to be produced in large quantities and in colors that were more vivid men began to wear clothing to show off their own style and fashion. This movement was marked by new fabrics and design that were used to create clothing that was not only functional but also had a fashionable look. The first fashions that were sold in stores were designed to have a casual look while maintaining a sense of formality.

The Great Depression resulted in an American fashion trend that showed women wearing more dresses and less suits. This was the first movement towards casual wear that did not include the designs of the previous decade. Women’s clothing began to become more fitted as a result of World War I that caused a mass production of men’s clothing that had a more tailored look. When the Great Depression hit again the fashions of the times made it more appealing for women to wear clothing that had fitted sweaters and fitted pants that were less baggy around the waist. Men began to wear trousers that were fitted so that the waist was held up with the trouser itself. These fashions made it fashionable for all ages to wear clothing.
