Fashion Trends in the 1990s
A friend of mine, thirty years old, loves fashion as much as I do, so when I asked her what she thought of the fashion styles from the past decades, she said nothing. She said that it was too “old school” and that she didn’t even know what to wear to work. But I assured her that it was still fashionable. She’s quite a stylish lady too and she epitomizes many of current popular trends so maybe she would’ve caught on to many of the past decade’s fashion trends too. You have to figure her style from an abstract standpoint and then the apply that to clothes for certain age groups appropriately so that you don’t get confused.
You see, twenty years ago, a plus size woman would never have been seen shopping in mainstream stores, like a major retailer would, but now that is simply not the case because lots of department stores are offering plus size clothing and accessories. In fact, if I had to guess, I’d say that the vast majority of women shopping today are plus size women shopping for a more contemporary image. So, do you see how things have changed in the past forty or sixty years? If you want to dress in the latest fashions, go shopping for it in department stores and boutiques. That way, you’ll be surrounded by fine clothing at affordable prices.
Of course, if you’d like to be seen in more classic styles, go shopping in vintage stores. For the most part, 90s fashion trends were about hip clothing, low rise pants, and oversized shirts. Now, these are still trendy, but there are some new additions that are making the old favorites look fresh and new again. One of those new additions is denim, which is making a huge come-back in the realm of the 90s fashions.
