The Art Deco fashion trend was started in 1930 with the birth of the Pop Art movement. After the World War II, the United States undergoes a massive cultural shift and became more receptive towards avant-garde styles. Art Deco is a style of fashion that originated from the Art Nouveau movement, and which concentrates on bold geometric shapes, contrasting colours and a simplistic approach to design. The art Deco fashion trend started in clothing as well as interior design. It was later applied to other areas such as architecture, jewelry and art. The Art Deco fashions are generally considered to be a non traditional style.
