The second issue of Pantone’s fashion color trend report, Spring/Summer 2021, comes out today. The fashion world is abuzz with the latest scoop from top fashion designers. On the one hand, some have praised the color trend as “a breath of new life” and declare that the color is a break through. Fashion experts also believe that the color is a sign of modernization and says, “It can be inspiring”. However, others, including those with a darker skin tone, are not so happy. They feel that the color trend will only push darker skin tones to the forefront of the fashion scene and that lighter skinned people will be left out in the cold.
According to the experts, Color Trends will definitely continue to influence fashion trends for the next few years to come. The report does indicate that a few other colors are on their way to the top of the fashion ladder including pastel pink, a brighter shade of green, a rustic gold, and maybe a royal blue or two. However, it is too soon to say what will be the next big thing. It will be interesting to see which shades will dominate the market and which fall under the umbrella of fall essentials.
So what colors should you choose to complement your wardrobe this fall? The color black is a safe bet to go with all fall ensembles. However, if you’re concerned about your complexion and want to stay away from bright shades, then consider going with a neutral shade like brown. However, keep in mind that you should stay away from metallic colors such as silver and gold. Stay with neutral colors.
