Fashion Advice for Buying Military Boot Socks

Military boot socks are an important part of military gear, since they protect the soldiers feet while they’re outside in battle. They come in all sorts of colors and styles, but there are some things that you need to know before you buy. First of all, make sure that the socks you buy are long enough, at least three inches above the knee, but not longer than a couple of inches. The length is extremely important for avoiding blisters or irritations from lumps and bumps on your feet.

Combat boots, particularly, are usually well above the ankle, so again you’re looking for a pair of mid-calf, over the mid-calf, or knee-high socks. When choosing combat boots be sure that the ones you choose will fit comfortably over your knee. If they aren’t too big, you can always cut them to size. Some military boots are designed to be worn with only socks, but it’s not recommended. The reason is that your socks will come up higher and can actually cut into the lower part of the boot.

Your next consideration when buying combat socks is what color you want. It’s often best to go with one solid color, so that you don’t have to deal with matching pairs of combat boots or combat socks that blend together. If you’re not sure about which color to pick, go with one color like black, brown, or tan. Black is probably the most popular, but if you’re buying a pair of socks for work you might also consider going with a dark olive green. Whatever you decide, just make sure that the socks you get blend in well with your overall army gear.
