Erika Tymrak is an American pro soccer player who currently plays as a striker for Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League. The 30-year-old Australian national has become known as one of the better players on the Pride due to her work rate on the field, her speed and her game sense. This is why Tymrak was recently chosen as the player of the month for the second year in a row. In this article we will take a brief look at what it means for an American female to be selected as the player of the month for the Women’s National Team.
It has been a long time since America has sent a women’s soccer team to the Olympics, but the Americans are finally getting there with the New Zealand based squad. The USA has never won a gold medal in the Olympic Games, but they did qualify out of the group stage for the women’s Euro 2021 after a remarkable run throughout the qualification tournament. After qualifying from their group, the USA is now set to face Brazil in the semis, and after going to Australia to play in the quarter finals, they will now face the eventual winner between England and Spain in the semis. Due to an impressive showing in the group stage and strong performances throughout the tournament including wins over Germany, Brazil and Sweden, all the American football team and players have earned the right to represent the USA in the Olympic games.
For Erika Tymrak, this is just another step on the ladder she has been climbing since joining the Orlando Pride as an import from Australia in the fall of 2021. She has impressed coach Jim Steracler and the rest of the coaching staff with her work ethic, soccer intelligence and her ability to contribute both on and off the field. It has been an amazing journey so far for Tymrak, and she is looking forward to fulfilling her goal of playing in the US National Team. This will only add to her growing success as a soccer player and as an athlete. As the soccer season progresses, so does Tymrak’s chances to represent the United States in the Olympics.
