Erika Fuentes, better known as merely Erika has had more than her share of interesting personal and professional adventures. Her resume is filled with many varied achievements, which earned her a number of awards and fellowships, but also a lot of fanfare. She began her illustrious career at the age of twenty, where she was a contestant on an immensely popular quiz show “I Didn’t Succeed in My Marriage” where she was subjected to a number of cruel and humorous taunts that pushed her to grow into a strong character and strong will to succeed. Later on she went on to pursue a degree in political science, which led her to her first work as a reporter for a Spanish newspaper. Since then she has established herself as one of the best English language speakers and writers of our time, working on several feature length television shows for HBO, as well as producing several widely acclaimed books.

And yet, the amazing profile of Erika Fuentes is incomplete without the most revealing and important part: her personal and professional partnership with Miguel Hidalgo. Hidalgo, currently Mexico’s Attorney General, is an American lawyer who serves as the country’s chief of staff. He rose to prominence within the administrations of both Presidents Bush and Clinton, having served as both a counselor to both of them. Prior to taking on the role of attorney general, he served as communications director for both Bush’s presidential campaigns. In fact, Fuentes appeared as a guest speaker at the Republican National Convention in 2021 and held talks with George W. Bush’s administration about how to improve relations with Mexico.

As a result of these extensive travels throughout the United States, Hidalgo sees Mexico as an extraordinarily important partner in the fight against drugs. Mexico’s attorney general is already widely recognized for his tireless efforts to tackle drug trafficking. As such, his appointment as Mexico’s top law enforcement official signals a significant turn in the history of the United States-Mexican relationship. Aside from the aforementioned notable achievements, Erika Fuentes has managed to significantly bolster Mexico’s low score on the Human Development Index. In fact, Fuentes was recently named one of the “wise men” by Time Magazine. And while many may view her recent achievements as a result of her position as a national figure, her own life has played a huge role in honing her skills as a personality artist and public speaker.
