Elena Farga is currently a British National, but was born in Ukraine. Elena Farga’s mother was born in Mexico and Elena Farga spent much of her early years in and around Lviv, Poland. Elena was a very small girl when her parents divorced and she was raised by her grandparents in Lviv. Elena studied art in Lviv, but did not become a professional until the outbreak of the Soviet Union, which meant that she was homebound for the first several years of her life.
Elena Farga is described by one interviewer as looking very ‘homemade.’ Elena was attracted to Russian men and, according to an acquaintance, would often dress in peasant garb (leaving aside the peasant shirt), and would talk about men and women alike. Elena was also interested in art, so much so that her friends in college kept asking her if she had any pieces she wanted to buy. Elena would not talk to them; rather, she would show them pictures of abstract drawings she had made. Elena had also always been interested in public speaking and in politics; she considered the Classics such as Machiavelli, Dostoyevsky, and Shakespeare the pinnacle of literature. Elena Farga, it is fair to say, has always considered herself a national character, even though she was born abroad.
Elena was never very popular with her classmates in college, but this may have been due to the fact that she was a bit on the short side. Elena has always admitted to being self-conscious about her height, and considered wearing heels to be the height of formality. She definitely did not consider white stockings and pant suits the height of fashion, however, and often showed off her personality by choosing her clothing and cosmetics carefully. Elena had a great love of western music, and it seems that this was one of the influences which influenced her choice of music for her first album -” Elena’s World”. Elena had little interest in the work of composers such as Bach, Rachman, Kneipp, Debussy, and Haydn, but she did learn to play an instrument when she was nineteen years old.
