Ashley Campbell is an American professional wrestler who currently is employed by Ring of Honor, one of the world’s top wrestling organizations. Though Ashley has not wrestling experience in high school, he did train in Brazilian jiu jitsu when he was a junior college student. As far as his height and nationality go, Ashley is American and a citizen of California.
Some sources state that Ashley is 6′ 2″, which would make him the same height as fellow ROH star Ray Stevens. However, another wrestler that working for ROH, Rocky Barrios, is listed at 6′ 2″ as well. Therefore, it is quite possible that Ashley may be either shorter or taller than his partner, Ray Stevens. There is also the possibility that he may have had some wrestling training in higher schools, but did not put it to use while being employed by ROH. Though most believe that Ashley is indeed American, some other wrestling stars have stated that they have never trained with an American as their first wrestling partner.
So, what does this all mean? Does Ashley has an unfair advantage as the one who is shorter? Not necessarily, though he is listed at a taller height by several websites. It is important to keep in mind that whether someone is American or not has very little bearing on how good or bad they are at wrestling. The real issue is that Ashley’s height difference will not greatly affect his ability to wrestle in the ring, and if anything, may actually help him, as his partner’s heights will be less of an issue than their national origin.
