With her popular weekly magazine, Dana Gagliotti discusses what it means to be an American in the 21st century. Gagliotti’s articles tend to discuss the themes of national identity, and ethnicity. In her most recent article, she wrote that being both an American and a Pakistani is like having the characteristics of a nationality while not really one.
The topic of race is often brought up by Gagliotti as well. She has said that race is a fiction, just a lie, and that the only true markers of nationality are bloodlines. However, in a piece from 2021, she wrote that there is no such thing as a white American and that all Americans are immigrants. In other words, she believes all people are one in the same – no races, no creeds, no social classes.
Gagliotti is a great writer, with plenty of expertise on different aspects of the human mind and body. Her writing style is clear without being simplistic, and is oftentimes scientific in nature. Her books on ethnicity and nationality are very popular, and her articles on national origin and race are particularly popular among her many readers. Her partner, David Stermer, is also well known as a doctor who specializes in pediatrics, and is the author of the book, “Pediatric: Making Sense With Children and Genetics.” Perhaps it is these shared interests that have led to the success of the partnership, which has been working together for over fifteen years.
