It is not clear what nationality she might have been born as, nor if she even had a nationality at all. As is the case of many other celebrities in modern times, her nationality is not known. It is possible that either her birth country or her marriage country played a part in her being assigned as a U.S. citizen, but because of her citizenship status, the United States government finally responded by granting her the right to naturalization as a U.S. citizen. This gives her the right to change her name legally to reflect her nationality and also to change her name or her former name to reflect her marriage to Cynthia Klitbo.

To commemorate their affiliation, the couple celebrated their thirtieth anniversary on March 4th, 2021 at their home in Encinitas, California. Guests at the party included her children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews, as well as her friend and fellow actor, Daniella Gelinas. Outside their home, their neighbor’s dog urinated on the grave where Klitbo had been buried. Upon further investigation, it was determined that this could be grounds for an annulment, since Gelinas was not married to Klitbo when he died.
