Cynthia Covert is an accomplished author and public speaker who have earned the National Endowment for the Arts Distinguished Visiting Artist distinction. Her book, “Songs From the New Black,” showcases her talents as a composer of colorful, original music. While pursuing a professional career as an artist, she has also released several non-soundtrack singles, most notably the duet of En Vogue’s Carla Hall and her husband, guitarist Carl Perkins.
