Claire Hentschker, a British national, has been a professional artist and writer for over 30 years, specializing in cross-dressing, pretending to be a man and playing the role of both woman and man. Claire began her acting career at the age of 19 when she appeared in the television drama “arenthood” as a teenager. She went on to play the character of Helen in the movie version of the show, playing the same role in both seasons. Her notable appearances include “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” and “The Perfect Score.” Claire was married to Paul Hirschy, a well known writer, director and producer, for seven years before divorcing in 1998.

Claire Hentschker is described by her own website as “a versatile actress/writer with an engaging personality. Claire Hentschker was raised in a family that encouraged open communication. Her father was a painter, her mother a writer and editor who encouraged Claire to explore her true passions. Claire pursued several different careers during her early years, eventually developing a strong connection with painting. She attended the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, before graduating in 1970 and studied philosophy and medieval history, focusing on English medieval literature and the culture of the times.”

Claire’s acting career spanned four decades and saw her traveling to over forty countries before she settled into roles that focused on women’s issues, such as in “Sixties Me,” “A Raisin in the Sun,” “A Woman in the Street” and “Don’t Take Me Home.” Claire served as a board member of the British suffragettes’ group PRS for Women. She was also active in many political, social and environmental causes, such as opposing nuclear weapons and preserving the environment. Claire Hentschker has died, but her work will live on through the work of those who honor her memory and her Nationality.
