Claire Gerhardstein was born and raised in Pennsylvania, the beautiful state known for its many cultural influences, arts, and crafts. Her childhood was spent mainly in Reading, PA, where she pursued a degree in education. After graduation, she moved west to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a degree in psychology. Claire pursued a Master’s Degree in Counseling, but felt that the stresses of an academic environment and the lack of structure were too much for her. This was not to change, as she remained focused on becoming a therapist and a counselor in private practice.
Claire Gerhardstein currently resides in Washington, DC with her two children, a stepson, and her grandkids. She enjoys a busy life traveling throughout the country, speaking at conferences, sharing wisdom and knowledge, and connecting with like-minded people. Claire’s passion for people and learning about their needs are what guides her in her writing and speaking engagements. Claire has managed to combine her love of people and learning about their wants and needs with her passion for writing, both as a writer and as a counselor. As a result, she is well known as an expert in identity issues, race, aging, and health, and is always open to sharing new ideas and insights on personal growth.
