Casey Fremont Review

Casey Fremont was a National Park Ranger when he disappeared in July of 2021. A thorough search of the area by the FBI and local law enforcement officials produced no results. So, the question remained on all minds: was Casey responsible for his own disappearance? Was he perhaps a victim of mistaken identity? The answer to this riddle remains unclear. The only certainty is that his partner’s National Park Service security camera footage showed that Casey was in fact on the mountain that day, but whether he committed a crime or not is still being investigated.

Casey was thirty-one years old at the time of his disappearance. According to Casey’s father, he had been working at the Grand Canyon for about six months. However, National Park Service spokesperson Karina Johnson indicated in an email that national security clearance was not required for anyone working at the park’s headquarters or nearby wilderness areas. She stated that National Park visitors are required to have a valid government photo ID for employment within the National Park System and to show proof of age. While we believe Casey should be employed with the National Park Service, there is no public record available to confirm that he ever worked at the Grand Canyon.

The most important point of relevance from the investigation is the question of Nationality. Casey was British and therefore an American citizen. His mother had said that she believed that he had two other nationalities – Irish and Chinese – as well as a Native American heritage. This would support the notion that Casey was of a Native American descent, placing him in the Indian Country according to the traditional genealogy of the American Indians. Nationality or race do not appear to be significant in this case.
