Violeta Noy is an artist from Barcelona who creates digital art, prints and greeting cards. She studied Commercial Arts at UHP and has recently finished an Illustration MA in Falmouth University. In her studies she concentrated on cartoon design, illustrative painting, digital media, and personal art. She currently works as an assistant professor of visual communication at Falmouth University alongside her partner Nuria Pla. They create website illustrations, greeting cards and book illustration projects for a number of companies.
Violeta Noy draws inspiration from a wide variety of sources. She draws from a variety of sources such as magazines, comic books, watercolors and illustrations from vintage newspapers. Her favorite subjects are animals, nature, fantasy, vases and pottery. The illustrations in her work have an artistic feel, full of colour, dimension and uniqueness that put them into a visual story that she relates to very strongly. “It is important that I express my ideas in a visual language,” she states.
Violeta Noy grew up in Barcelona and was inspired by both her parents and her grandmother. As she got older, she decided to pursue a career in illustration and publishing, eventually working in the fashion industry as an illustrator before turning to the web and children’s books illustration. Her credits include being a character designer for Dell, Barbie’s latest dress up collection, and an illustrated collection for the British Film Corporation. Her favorite projects include dressing up dolls, creating greeting cards, creating characters for video games and building models at a toy warehouse. She has created over 60 characters and has done pieces for Barbie, Dora the Explorer, Hello Kitty and Bob the Builder.
